This is the hard part, the background. I’m trying to figure something cool, fast and easy to do to complete this project.

Version 2.0

So same process as the figure; start by trying to find out what the background is gonna be and playing with contrast in relation to the main character, you want him to be in the background but at the same time you want him to pop out a little, because he’s the main attraction.

So I managed to find time to advance my concept art of the character I created in my earlier post.

Version 1.4
So at this point I am pretty much done with it, I mean as a greyscale drawing. I intend to put colour eventually. But before that I want to put a background, something so that this character gets a little of a story. I got nothing against floating characters on a white background, hell I do it all the time. The problem with that is people will always pay more attention when they feel like the illustration is more complete. It also adds other challenge to draw not only a random dude but to insert him in a location that will interact with him. I also want to start the BG before advancing on the colour, it’s easier for the harmorny of the drawing to not leave the setting until the end.

I`m back again with this drawing, don’t worry it’s not the only thing I am gonna post from now on. I’ll have other stuff coming up. But when I have a little more free time I like to work on this one.  Key word here, ”free time ”, yeah right, that doesn`t happen often!
Version 1.3
Pretty much like the last post. redefined the shadows and shapes more to get ready for the final step before colours…

After putting little more time on my chick knight with a flamethrower, I’m gonna need a name for it. Anyhow, so like I mentioned on my last post, every time I work on this piece I’ll post the lastest version.
Version 1.2
So on this one I only played a little with the shadows and highlights. Just so I can redefine my shapes more and more. I`m not going full black or white yet, I`m keeping that for after.

So for this piece I’ll try to keep you updated all the way of the process. It`s not a piece that I work on it all the time because it takes some time do and also I really don’t know where am going with it. So everytime I’ll work on it I’ll post the new version.
Version 1.0
This is just the rough sketch of the random idea. So I did a neutral grey background ( a 50% grey) so when I will put some highlights they will really pop out and at this stage I am only working in grey scale. What’s the subject? Well I think I am going to go with some kind of knight chick with a futuristic flame thrower instead of one of her arms.

I have been reading a bunch of trade paper backs of The Man Without Fear, Daredevil for some research for some other projects I have in mind. So obviously I was really in the mood for this drawing.

So I am working on so many different projects that I felt the need to take a break and just do a fun illustration. The biggest problem with that is…
white page syndrome.Arg !!! I hate the feeling of not knowing what to draw. I always feel like I`m waisting so much time just trying to decide what to draw and when you think you know ..well, that is usually when a big crappy drawing apprears
on your white page. Anyway after finishing a few bad drawings I did this one. I hope you won’t consider this a bad drawing :P

Enjoy the skyscraper rider, the Ghost Rider.

I drew this Superman illustration because, well, first of all it’s been forever since I’ve dranw him and second, I wanted to show the other side of the god like super hero, the side of him that is more human and more lonely.
